Athletic Academic Coordinator - Jacob Blum

As Butler’s Athletic Academic Coordinator, Jacob Blum works with student-athletes to help them achieve their academic goals.

He works with all nine athletic teams at Butler, helping student athletes enroll in classes, coordinating study halls, and serving as a liaison between the athletic department and Butler faculty by monitoring student-athlete’s academic progress through grade checks. He also coordinates the peer tutoring program at Butler and works with student-athletes to help them meet all academic eligibility requirements to transfer to four-year schools.

Blum comes to Butler from Fort Hays State University, where he spent two years working as the graduate assistant for Athletics Compliance. He earned his Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Sports Administration.

Blum is originally from Phoenix, Ariz. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Colorado State University-Pueblo. While in college, he was a three-year starter in soccer and captain of the team as a senior. He holds the school records with 16 saves in a game. He also was the first student-athlete from that school to earn three-straight first-team all-academic all-conference honors (2009-2011).
