Butler sophomores Connor Hurst and Roshae Burrell are the Butler Athletes of the Week, presented by the Marines.
Connor Hurst, Baseball
Hurst, an outfielder from Augusta, Kan., had a monster performance in a Sunday home doubleheader sweep over Coffeyville. In a 4-1 Game 1 victory over the Ravens, Hurst went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and scored twice. He continued his hot hitting in the second game, hitting two home runs and driving in eight runs in a 21-7 win. Like Game 1, Hurst went 3-for-3 and scored four runs. He finished the day hitting 6-for-6, six runs scored, five extra-base hits, two home runs and eight runs batted in.
Roshae Burrell, Women’s Track & Field
Burrell, a mid-distance runner from Portland, Jamaica, helped the Grizzly women to a Jayhawk West crown at the Region VI Indoor Championships on Sunday in Manhattan. Burrell was the opening runner on the women's distance medley relay team, which took first place with a time of 12:46.00. She also was on the 4x800-meter relay, taking second (9:54.51). Individually, she placed runner-up in the 1,000-meter run (3:07.61) and finished sixth in the 800-meter run (2:27.20).
