EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler women had four players in double figures as the Grizzlies handled visiting Colby by a 70-61 score on Wednesday night in the Power Plant.
Colby scored the first six points of the game and was still ahead until Ashley Gibson scored to give Butler a 13-12 advantage with 11:44 left in the first half. Butler finished the half by outscoring the Trojans 26-7 over the final 12 minutes to take a 37-19 lead at intermission.
Colby trimmed the deficit to seven points early in the second half at 39-32, but Butler again went on a run and Katie Palmer's layup gave Butler its biggest lead at 56-35 with 10:20 to go.
Butler, now 19-6 overall, remains in third place in the Jayhawk West at 9-3. The Grizzlies will travel to Pratt on Saturday for a 6 p.m. game against the Beavers at Lesh Arena.
