Masai, Collymore and Calloway qualify for Nationals
WICHITA, Kan. -- The Butler outdoor track and field team had three new qualifiers for nationals at the K.T. Woodman Classic this past weekend.
On the women's side, Fiona Masai (5000-meter run) and Abiane Collymore (1500-meter run) hit new qualifying marks in the distance running events. Collymore finished the 1500m run just under the 5:00 qualifying mark with a time of 4:59.53. For Masai, it marks the third event she has qualified for nationals. Last week at the Emporia Relays, Masai qualified in the 3000-meter steeplechase and was part of the 4x800-meter relay team along with Collymore.
Steven Calloway qualified in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.50 seconds. The men's team has now qualified for nationals in five events.
The Grizzlies' track and field team will next be in action at the Kansas Relays on April 18-20 in Lawrence, Kan.
