The Butler cross country and track & field programs hosted their first annual Butler Grizzlies Alumni Fun Run/Walk on Saturday at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.

The event served as a preseason time trial for the Butler cross country teams. Alumni and others also ran the course, with proceeds raising funds for the program.

Newcomer Edwin Serem was the fastest to cover the course in a time of 16:24. He was followed by Israel Mendoza in 16:54 and freshman Max Surmeier in 17:47.

Butler's women were led by Abiane Collymore in a time of 19:37. The second Butler woman was Terra Flores in 21:57, followed by Hayley Ribordy in 22:13.

Among general public, Butler alum Taylor Parker was the first to cross the line in 17:42, followed by Ben Bunck in 21:34 and Troy Scarlett in 23:29.

The first women's runer from the general public to finish was Erin Topham in 19:50, followed by Corine Porter in 24:56 and Jill McPherron in 27:18.
