Kenzie Galliart (Women’s Basketball) & Emmanuel Otim (Men’s Track and Field)

Butler women’s basketball forward Kenzie Galliart and men’s track and field distance runner Emmanuel Otim have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of January 20th through January 26th, 2025.

Kenzie Galliart (Women’s Basketball)

Galliart, a freshman from Overland Park, Kan., turned in a huge performance in Butler’s lone game of the week, a 95-43 win over Pratt on the road. The true freshman from Overland Park totaled career-highs in both points and rebounds as she tallied 23 points and 21 rebounds. She shot 9-14 (64%) from the field and was also 5-8 from the charity stripe. The 20-20+ points/rebounds effort for Galliart is the first in head coach Mike Helmer's 17-year tenure at Butler. It marks the second consecutive week Galliart has been named the Athlete of the Week.

Emmanuel Otim (Men’s Track and Field)

Otim, a freshman from Kikube, Uganda, had a big performance on Saturday at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge at Pittsburg State’s Robert Plaster Center. Otim won the 3000m (8:29.11) as well as turning in a fourth-place finish in the mile (4:11.62). Both marks earned him a spot at the NJCAA Indoor Nationals later this season. He helped power the Butler men to a third place finish out of 30 teams.
