Butler women’s basketball guard Keegan Yarick and football wide receiver Daveon Walker have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of November 11th through November 17th, 2024.
Keegan Yarick (Women’s Basketball)
Yarick, a freshman from Fort Scott, Kan., helped Butler women’s basketball to a 2-0 week at the Tonkawa Classic in Tonkawa, Okla., as the Grizzlies defeated NOC-Enid and NOC-Tonkawa. Yarick led Butler in scoring on the week, averaging 14.5 points per game to go with 8 rebounds per game from her guard spot. In the win on Friday over Enid, Yarick finished with 23 points, eight rebounds, six steals and two assists. She helped Butler get to 4-0 on the season and earn a spot in the NJCAA top-25, ranked No. 24.
Daveon Walker (Football)
Walker, a redshirt sophomore from Warner Robins, Georgia, helped the Grizzlies pick up a 7-3 home win over the Iowa Central Tritons on Saturday. Walker led the Grizzly pass catchers finishing with five receptions for 89 yards including a long grab of 43 yards. On the Grizzlies game winning drive Walker had two receptions including a critical 17-yard pickup on fourth down.
