Butler women’s basketball guard Ashley Singhateh and men’s basketball guard Bubba Leavell have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of December 2nd through December 8th, 2024.

Ashley Singhateh (Women’s Basketball)

Singhateh, a freshman from Maize, Kan., had another impressive week for the Grizzlies as she led them to two conference wins. This is the second time this season she has been named a White Eagle Athlete of the Week. She led Butler in scoring with 13.0 points per game. In the Grizzlies 63-46 win over Barton, Singhateh finished with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. In Butler's 86-49 win over Fort Hays Tech Northwest, Singhateh added 11 points, two rebounds and two assists. She shot 52.4% from the field for the week.

Bubba Leavell (Men’s Basketball)

Leavell, a sophomore from Hopkinsville, Ky., helped the ranked Grizzlies to two wins moving them to 5-0 in league play this season. Leavell scored in double figures in both games, averaging 18.0 points per game on the week as well as shooting 47.8 from three-point range. He finished with 13 points, two rebounds and two steals in a win over No. 6 Barton. In Butler's 83-54 win over Fort Hays Tech Northwest, Leavell had 23 points on 7-14 shooting from three to go with three rebounds.
