Kylie Forney and Shane Holman

Butler softball outfielder Kylie Forney and baseball pitcher Shane Holman have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of February 24th through March 2nd, 2025.

Kylie Forney (Softball)

Forney, a sophomore from Andover, Kansas, helped the 14th ranked Grizzlies to a doubleheader sweep of Labette on Thursday. She finished 3-5 with 8 RBIs in the two games, hitting three home runs. In game one Forney hit two home runs, driving in five runs as Butler won 11-4. Forney hit her third home run of the day in the second game finishing with three RBI. On the season she is slugging 1.118 and has an on-base percentage of .500.

Shane Holman (Baseball)

Holman, a true freshman from Wichita, KS, turned in two strong performances for the Grizzlies over the week in games vs. Northeast CC and Des Moines Area CC. On the week he threw 6.0 innings allowing one run, striking out seven and walking none with a 1.50 ERA. He earned the start on Monday vs. Northeast CC and tossed 5.0 innings of one run baseball, striking out two in a no decision. Holman then picked up his second win of the season on Saturday tossing a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout vs. DMACC. On the season Holman holds a 3.00 ERA in 9.0 innings pitched with a 2-0 record.
