Elizabeth Hernandez and Levi Wittenberg
Butler women’s cross country student-athlete Elizabeth Hernandez and Butler football linebacker Levi Wittenberg have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of September 7th through September 13th, 2025.
Elizabeth Hernandez (Women’s Cross Country)
Grizzly sophomore Elizabeth Hernandez won the Bethel College Muthama-Rogers Invitational, placing first out of 94 participants with a time of 18:46.20. Hernandez's time was 16.2 seconds ahead of the runner-up Nadine Mcintyre of Colby Community College as Butler finished as the highest-finishing NJCAA team in the meet with a third-place finish out of nine schools in the meet.
Levi Wittenberg (Football)
El Dorado, Kansas native Levi Wittenberg had the game of his life this past Saturday when the 15th-ranked Grizzlies defeated Ellsworth 86-0. Wittenberg finished the evening with three blocked punts and returned one for a touchdown. Wittenberg's first blocked punt came early in the first quarter as he returned it six yards for a touchdown to give Butler a 13-0 lead en route to tying a program record for points scored in a game.
