Destiny Smith & Devin Kerr

Butler women's basketball player Destiny Smith and Butler men's basketball player Devin Kerr have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of January 4th through January 10th, 2026.

Destiny Smith (Women's Basketball)

Butler sophomore guard Destiny Smith helped the Grizzlies go 2-0 last week, including knocking off the No. 1 ranked Dodge City Conquistadors 72-58 on Saturday. In Wednesday's 64-54 win over Cowley, Smith had 24 points with all of her scoring coming from behind the arc, as she went eight of 15 from deep. In Saturday's 72-58 win over No. 1 Dodge City, Smith had 10 points, four of nine from the field, and went two of six from three-point range.

Devin Kerr (Men's Basketball)

Butler sophomore Devin Kerr put up two of his best performances on the season last week, helping the Grizzlies go 2-0, both over ranked opponents. In the Grizzlies 96-75 win over No. 24 Cowley, Kerr finished with 15 points on a 50 percent clip, grabbed five rebounds, three assists, and one steal. In the Grizzlies wild 121-119 overtime victory over No. 19 Dodge City, Kerr was spectacular. Kerr scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds for a double-double on the day, including the game winning basket with 10.7 seconds left in overtime. 24 of Kerr's points came in the second half and overtime alone. Kerr also contributed with two assists, one block, and one steal.
