Before Butler: attended Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, Okla., where he played for coach Bill Hutson… lettered three years in baseball… was named All-Frontier Conference as an outfielder in 2011 and 2012…helped team win 6A regional championship in 2011… played club baseball for the Tulsa Oilers, coached by Jake Rutledge.
