Dyer's grand slam propels Butler to game two win; Grizzlies split the day with Saints

The Butler Grizzlies split a two game doubleheader, the first of a four game series against the Seward County Saints on Thursday, dropping the first game 10-8 before coming back to dominate the second game 14-4 at McDonald Stadium.
Game One
The Grizzlies gave up eight of the first nine runs of the contest but scored three runs in the fifth, and two in the sixth and the seventh, but it wouldn't be enough to finish the comeback as Butler fell in game one.
Jackson Syring and Paul Schoenfeld homered late in the game, Syring hitting a solo shot to center in the sixth while Schoenfeld hit a two run bomb in the final inning to bring the Grizzlies to within two, though they got no closer. Butler finished with eight runs on seven hits, but left nine men on base.
Game Two
Butler bounced right back in game two, propelled by a Haydenn Dyer grand slam in the third inning, as they run ruled the Saints as the offense dominated at the Mac. The Grizzlies scored 14 runs on 14 hits, led by Dyer's four RBIs. Josh Holmes was 5-5 hitting two doubles and batted across two runs, while Zach Stroh also earned two RBIs in the victory.
Tanner Leslie picked up his second win of the season on the mound, giving up four runs on six hits and striking out four batters in five innings of work.
Butler's record goes to 12-7 with the doubleheader split, and they'll look to win the series against the Saints when they head to Liberal for a doubleheader on Saturday.
