The Butler Grizzlies baseball team had an incredible performance against the Neosho County Panthers, winning 13-1 and tallying five homeruns.
Butler started strong with a 3-run first inning and continued to build on their lead throughout the game, scoring at least 2 runs in the next three innings. The Grizzlies' offense was led by Brock Kuehler, who hit 2 home runs and had 3 RBIs, and Justin Hudson, who also hit a home run and had 3 RBIs. Hayden Dyer contributed with 2 RBIs, while Alan Benhardt, Frank Garcia, and Brock Lummus each had an RBI; Benhardt and Lummus' from solo homeruns. On the mound, Preston Giltner picked up the win, allowing only 1 run in 4 innings of work. Jeremy Bingesser, Tate Rico, and Blake Werry combined for 3 shutout innings of relief.
The McDonald Stadium seats were full as the El Dorado Middle School Pros were in attendance cheering on the Grizzlies to their victory.
The Grizzlies improved their record to 33-19 overall and 18-10 in conference play. Butler Baseball will wrap up regular season play this week as they travel to Pratt Wednesday to take on the Beavers in a double header at 1 and 3 p.m. before returning home to McDonald Stadium Saturday to finish the series.
