CHARLOTTE, NC – Butler true freshman outfielder Danny Wideman was awarded National Player of the Week honors after his performance vs Des Moines Area Community College.
Butler freshman outfielder Danny Wideman delivered a monster performance over the weekend, powering the Grizzlies to a four-game series split with Des Moines Area Community College. In three games against the Bears, Wideman racked up eight hits in 12 at‑bats, blasting five home runs, driving in 11 runs, scoring six times, while adding a double and three stolen bases. Wideman homered twice in both games two and three of the series, then capped the weekend with another long ball in game four.
This is the first National Player of the Week honor for Wideman, a West Linn, Oregon native. Wideman also earned KJCCC Player of the Week honors earlier in the week.
