Bio
Breon Horne enters his first year on the Butler baseball coaching staff in 2026.
Horne arrived at Butler after spending the previous season as a student assistant coach at Pittsburg State University. He coached under Brock Buckingham during the Fall 2025 semester before joining the Butler staff for the Spring 2026 season. In the Spring of 2025, Horne worked with the outfielders and hitters under legendary NCAA Division II head coach Bob Fornelli. During that season, he helped the Gorillas post a 42–12 record, hit .323 as a team, rank second nationally in fielding percentage (.981), set a program‑record 13‑game winning streak, and reach the NCAA Division II Super Regional. Center fielder Alex Rodgers also earned the MIAA Gold Glove under Horne’s guidance.
Horne is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in general studies with a humanities concentration at Pittsburg State, with graduation expected in Spring 2026.
Before his time at Pitt State, Horne earned two associate degrees from Butler Community College—an Associate of Arts in Psychology (2023) and an Associate of Science in Health Sciences (2024). He was also a member of the Grizzlies baseball program from 2022–24.
Horne was recently named the head coach of the Nevada Griffons of the MINK League for the upcoming summer season.
