Bio
The 2026 football season will be Brandon Niccum's second with Butler Community College. Niccum serves as the Grizzlies' co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
In his first season with the Grizzlies, Niccum helped produce a potent ground attack, as Butler ranked No. 1 in the Jayhawk Conference in rushing offense while averaging 192.9 yards per game and 5.2 yards per carry.
Niccum helped guide running back Markellus Bass to NJCAA All-American honors in 2025. Bass rushed for 1,237 yards and eight touchdowns behind Niccum's offensive line.
Niccum came to Butler from Missouri Southern State University, where he served as offensive line coach and run game coordinator. During his time with the Lions, he recruited 15 offensive linemen in a single signing class. Prior to Missouri Southern, Niccum served as offensive coordinator at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, where his offense ranked among the nation's top 10 in rushing yards per game.
Before his time at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Niccum spent three seasons (2021-23) at Southwest Baptist University. In 2022, he helped coach the nation's ninth-leading rusher in NCAA Division II football. The Bearcats improved their rushing production by more than 1,300 yards and finished the season ranked among the nation's top 25 in total offense.
Niccum coached four All-MIAA offensive linemen during his time at Southwest Baptist, including first-team selection Dami Oyesanya, second-team selection William Bressi and honorable mention honorees Cody Brackeen and Chase Bartlett. He helped mentor 19 all-conference players throughout his coaching career. The Bearcats finished the 2022 season with a 6-5 record, their first winning season since 2016.
Before joining Southwest Baptist, Niccum served as offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. He also directed the Norsemen's strength and conditioning program.
Niccum also spent time as offensive line coach and strength and conditioning coordinator at Lawton Eisenhower High School, a Class 5A program in Oklahoma.
In 2019, he served as offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Rocky Mountain College, an NAIA program in Billings, Montana.
A graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Niccum earned a bachelor's degree in health, sport science and sport psychology. He was an all-conference offensive lineman and team captain for the Rangers. Before his time at NWOSU, Niccum played two seasons at Navarro College.
During his time at Navarro, Niccum earned two first-team all-conference awards, first-team All-Region honors and All-America recognition.
A native of Justin, Texas, Niccum was a standout player at Northwest High School.
