Men’s Basketball Ranked 13th in Preseason NJCAA Poll
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler men’s basketball found itself ranked in the top-15 of the preseason NJCAA D1 Men’s Basketball Poll, released on Oct. 23.
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler men's basketball found itself ranked in the top-15 of the preseason NJCAA D1 Men's Basketball Poll, released on Oct. 23.
The Grizzlies came in at No. 13 in the nation, their highest preseason rank under head coach Kyle Fisher.
Other KJCCC squads included in the preseason poll were Garden City (16th) and Barton (19th). Highland was receiving votes. The full poll can be found below.
The preseason ranking comes after the Grizzlies were picked to win the KJCCC by the league's coaches.
Butler returns just three players from last year's Region VI championship winning and NJCAA Tournament Sweet 16 team. The Grizzlies have 12 newcomers including two NCAA D1 transfers and four junior college transfers.
The Grizzlies will kick off their season on Friday Nov. 3 and Saturday Nov. 4 at the Moberly Area Basketball Classic, playing Henry Ford on Friday and Moberly Area on Saturday. The first home game comes on Tuesday, Nov. 7 vs. Labette at 7:30 p.m.
