Men’s Basketball Slots in at No. 14 in Week 1 NJCAA Rankings
EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler Grizzlies men’s basketball team was ranked 14th in the NJCAA D1 Week One poll, released Monday afternoon.
EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler Grizzlies men's basketball team was ranked 14th in the NJCAA D1 Week One poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Grizzlies dropped one spot from their preseason rank of 13th following a 3-1 start to the season.
The Grizzlies have wins over Henry Ford College (84-72), Labette (68-51) and Kansas Wesleyan's JV squad (118-58) this season. The one loss is to now 15th-ranked Moberly Area who was ranked 20th when they defeated Butler 73-65 on Nov. 7th on their home floor in Moberly.
Butler has two home games this week, 7:30 on Wednesday vs. State Fair and 4 p.m. on Saturday vs. NOC-Enid. The Grizzlies open KJCCC play on the road on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Northwest Kansas Technical in Goodland, KS at 8:30 p.m.
Butler is one of two ranked KJCCC teams in the NJCAA poll, coming in behind Barton who came in at No. 9 and is off to a 6-0 start to the season. Hutchinson and Coffeyville were each receiving votes.
