Ramatsebe's Steeplechase Run Nets KJCCC and NJCAA Track Athlete of the Week Honors
Ramatsebe Earns Conference and National Award
Butler freshman distance runner Kamohelo Ramatsebe was named the KJCCC Division 1 Track Athlete of the Week as well as the NJCAA Track and Field Division 1 Men's Outdoor Athlete of the Week for his performance at the KT Woodman Classic last week.
Ramatsebe, a freshman from Welkom, South Afric,a bested a 39-runner field in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Wichita State University KT Woodman Classic to win the event with a time of 9:06.67. The time is the fifth-fastest in the NJCAA this season as the freshman bested a field that included runners from NCAA Division 1, 2, NAIA, and NJCAA institutions.
He becomes the third Grizzly this season to earn KJCCC Division 1 Track Athlete of the Week joining Itumeleng Nxgabazi in the outdoor season and Ishmael Acheampong in the indoor season.
