Butler softball freshman second baseman Claire Lopez was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Monday as a second team All-West Region infielder.

Butler softball freshman second baseman Claire Lopez was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Monday as a second team All-West Region infielder.

Lopez, a freshman from Olathe, Kan., was previously honored as a first team All-KJCCC honoree.

She finished the season leading the KJCCC in batting average (.522) and on-base percentage (.596), while finishing with 72 hits which was fifth best in the league. On the season Lopez scored 60 runs and stole 35 bases, third most in the league. Lopez finished with 25 multi-hit games.

Lopez was the lone Grizzly on either the first or second team.
