Butler Softball Sees 11 Named to All-Jayhawk Conference Teams
Grizzlies Scattered Across All-KJCCC Teams
The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference released its 2025 All-KJCCC Division 1 Softball teams on Wednesday, with Butler having 11 honorees.
The Grizzlies landed three first team picks, six on the second team and two honorable mention selections following a season that saw them win the KJCCC regular season title as well as the Plains District/Region 6 Tournament Championship as they punched a ticket to the NJCAA Division 1 Softball World Series later this month.

FIRST TEAM SELECTIONS
Claire Lopez was named a first team selection as an infielder for a second consecutive season. The sophomore from Olathe hit .540 in KJCCC play (third best in the league) and led Butler with 54 hits, a .598 OBP and a conference-high 41 stolen bases during league play. Overall, Lopez is hitting .500 in 47 games played, tallying 86 hits with a .556 on-base percentage. Her hits, batting average, triples (6) and stolen bases (56) lead the Grizzlies. Lopez had two different 14-game hitting streaks this season. The 56 stolen bases were one shy of leading the conference. Throughout her Grizzly career, the freshman All-American has racked up 158 hits, a .510 average, and has walked 14 more times (47-33) than she has struck out. Lopez was named to the NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 Softball All-Tournament Team as she went 11-24 (.458) with nine stolen bases, eight RBI and eight runs scored.
Kory Schoenfeld landed on the first team as a sophomore after earning second team recognition as a freshman. Schoenfeld, Butler's shortstop, hit .400, striking out just 3 times in 75 at bats during conference play. She tallied 43 runs scored, 17 stolen bases and 9 extra base hits in conference action. Overall, the sophomore from Wichita holds a .434 average in 2025 with 26 RBI and a .497 on-base percentage. Schoenfeld had 42 starts at shortstop and four in left field. Her average jumped from .336 as a freshman to .434 as a sophomore.
Kylie Forney, a redshirt sophomore earned first team honors as a utility player. The Andover, Kansas, native finished conference play slashing .425/.552/.904 with eight home runs and 28 RBI. She fielded at a .952 clip splitting time in the outfield and at third base. Overall, Forney started in 46 games and hit .400 with a .536 on-base percentage and 52 runs driven in. Her 17 doubles is tied with Jenna Jobe for the team-lead while her 111 total bases and 31 walks lead the team. Forney has smashed 14 home runs which is second best on the team behind Kim Yepez. Forney was named to the NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 Softball All-Tournament Team as she finished 11-21 (.524) with 11 runs driven in and five doubles.
SECOND TEAM SELECTIONS
The Grizzlies home runs and RBI leader, sophomore Kim Yepez was named a second team infielder. The Round Rock, Texas, native, 10 home runs in conference play led Butler and ranked fourth best in the conference. She hit .354 and slugged .717 while driving in a team-high 45 runs in conference play. Overall Yepez hit .318 and slugged .701 with 17 home runs (third most in the KJCCC) and 68 RBI (third most in the KJCCC).
Graci Hock was named a second team outfielder for Butler in her first campaign with the Grizzlies. Hock, a freshman from Cabot, Ark., hit .460 and slugged .920 in league play, driving in 26 runs. She finished with 6 home runs and 5 doubles in 20 conference games played. She played in just 30 games on the season, getting an opportunity midway through and never letting go. On the year Hock hit .409 with 19 RBI and held a .524 on-base percentage and .773 slugging.
Sophomore outfielder Kyrsten Moran is a two-time All-KJCCC selection after nabbing first team honors in 2024 and second team honors in 2025. She hit .411 in conference play and her 39 hits ranked second on the team. She stole 33 bases which is second best on the team and third best in the league. Across the entire season Moran finished hitting .392 with a .492 on-base percentage. She tallied 60 hits, 35 RBI and 51 stolen bases. Moran crossed into second all-time in Butler history with 101 career stolen bases at the Region 6 Tournament.
Freshman catcher Jenna Jobe landed on the second team. She finished league play with a .438 average, striking out once across 80 at bats to go with 10 walks. She had 35 hits, 27 RBI, eight doubles and three home runs. Jobe caught in 27 conference games and made just one error (.992). Overall, Jobe hit .418 and slugged .702 with 59 hits and 49 RBI. Her 17 doubles led the team while she also added seven home runs.
Freshman pitcher Ellie Randall led the Jayhawk with a 2.57 ERA, throwing a team-high 64.2 innings and holding an 11-0 record in league play. She struck out 55 and walked 18 while allowing just one home run in 15 appearances. Over the entire season, Randall finished with a 16-2 record and a 2.57 ERA in a team-high 103.2 innings pitched and 23 starts. She struck out 76 compared to 30 walks. Randall threw a team-high six complete games while allowing just four home runs in 400 at bats.
Sophomore Addy Ewing was a second team selection. She held the third best ERA in the league (3.11) while racking up a league-high six saves. Ewing led Butler with 26 appearances and held a 7-1 record. Her two saves in the Region 6/Plains District Tournament helped guide the Grizzlies to a tournament championship and NJCAA Division 1 World Series bid. Ewing was named to the NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 Softball All-Tournament Team with a 3.94 and the aforementioned two saves.
HONORABLE MENTION SELECTIONS
Freshman outfielder Kyler Demel earned honorable mention honors in her first year as a Grizzly. Demel held a .382 batting average and a .456 OBP as she tallied 26 hits, 27 RBI and 8 doubles in 24 conference games played. Demel played in 39 games overall, hitting .375 with a .447 on-base percentage. She tallied 39 hits, 48 RBI and 15 extra base hits. Demel was named to the NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 Softball All-Tournament Team after finishing with 10 runs driven in, two home runs, six runs scored and walking five times in seven games.
Sophomore pitcher Chloe Odle is now a two-time All-KJCCC pick after being named an honorable mention pitcher in 2025. Odle led Butler in strikeouts with 97 which also ranked fourth in the KJCCC. Her 3.44 ERA was fifth best in the Jayhawk. Odle ended the regular season with a 12-3 record in 20 starts, tossing four complete games and 83.1 innings while hitters hit just .205 off her.
