Grizzlies Stay Unbeaten with Win Over Coffeyville

Butler (6-0, 1-0) held the Red Ravens (6-1, 0-1) to only 21.7% shooting and only 17 second half points.
The win for the Grizzlies marks their third in a row at Nellis Hall.
Coffeyville led 17-15 after the first quarter and hit back-to-back threes to start the second quarter to extend their lead to 23-17. Coffeyville led the Grizzlies by only one, 28-27, heading into the break.
The Grizzlies caught fire early in the second half, scoring eight unanswered points to take a 35-28 lead and never looked back.
Butler pulled away in the fourth quarter, winning 55-45 over Coffeyville.
The Grizzlies shot only 37.3% from the field, and were four of 17 from three. Butler also went 13 of 22 from the free throw line in the win.
Ten of Coffeyville's 13 total field goals were three pointers, as they shot 10 of 40 from deep at a 25% clip.
Ashley Singhateh and Elina Syniakova led the Grizzlies in scoring with 13 a piece. Singhateh also added six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Mya Mayberry added ten points, six rebounds, three assists, and a steal for the Grizzlies.
No. 14 Butler and No. 1 Dodge City remain as the only unbeaten teams in the Jayhawk Conference, both sitting at 6-0 on the season.
Next up: The Grizzlies will host No. 18 Hutchinson on Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Power Plant in El Dorado, Kan.
