Grizzlies Drop 1st Game of Season in Ranked Matchup With Seminole State

SEMINOLE, Okla. – No. 4 Seminole State hands No. 11 Butler their first loss of the 2025 season in a shutout in Seminole, Oklahoma Monday evening.
Butler (1-1) entered the game after winning their first game of the season on the road against No. 18 Rose State 4-2 last Thursday. Seminole State's matchup with the Grizzlies was their first contest of the season. Both teams battled each other first game of the season last year in El Dorado when London Ingram scored the miraculous game tying goal with four seconds remaining to end the game in a tie 1-1. This year's matchup between the two squads didn't go down to the wire, as the Grizzlies were shutout 3-0 on Monday evening.
Seminole State's Lesli Razo started the game off with a bang, scoring the game opening goal nine minutes into the contest. Razo again scored another goal at the 28:40 minute mark of the first half to extend Seminole State's lead 2-0 heading into the break.
The Grizzlies were held to only two shot on goal's on the night, one for each half. Deep into the second half, with 8:21 minutes to go, Seminole State's Mary Awuah put in yet another goal for the Trojans to push their lead and ultimatley winning the game 3-0.
Five different Grizzlies attempted a shot, and Isabel Sandoval & Kenedi Smith each had a shot on goal.
Next up: The Grizzlies will travel to Daytona Beach, Fl. to take on No. 1 Daytona State on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
