Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award
Grizzlies Notch Academic Award For 6th Time Under Lechtenberg
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Monday that the 2024-25 Butler Community College volleyball team earned the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.
Teams ranging from high school to the collegiate levels must have maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award. The Grizzlies were one of 12 NJCAA Division 1 teams to receive the award.
Butler volleyball has earned the award in six of seven years under head coach Lisa Lechtenberg. Overall, the Grizzlies have won 15 AVCA team Academic Awards, which was started in 1992-93.
The Grizzlies finished with a 3.345 GPA across the 2024-25 year and had 11 student-athletes named to the KJCCC All-Academic team (3.5 GPA or better).
