Grizzlies Fall to No. 13 Colby in Straight Sets

COLBY, Kan. – The Butler Grizzlies lost to the No.13 ranked Colby Trojans in three sets at the Colby Event Center on Wednesday night.
Butler (17-11, 7-6) dropped their sixth conference game on the season to a powerful Colby Trojans (21-5, 13-1) team. Colby swept the Grizzlies in three sets (25-13, 25-21, 25-13).
From the opening serve, Colby proved to be too much for the Grizzlies, taking the first set 25-13. Butler made the second set more competitive, but Colby had every answer, winning the second set 25-21. The third set was much of the same story, as No. 13 Colby completed the sweep over the Grizzlies, taking down Butler 25-13 in the third set.
Butler was held to a .179 hitting percentage, whereas Colby finished the night with a .463 hitting percentage.
Miami Kirksay led the team in kills with 6 on the night, and Harlee Randall and Sophia Neihouse each added five. Bella Holcomb led the way in assists, finishing the night with 17.
Next up: The Grizzlies will be back at home in the Power Plant on Saturday to take on the Garden City Broncbusters at 1 p.m.
