Butler Outlasts Hutchinson Again in Regular Season Finale

With the win, Butler improves to 20-11 overall and 10-6 in conference play, while Hutchinson drops to 14-17 and 6-10 in conference action.
The two teams last met on October 1 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, where the Grizzlies completed a reverse sweep on the road. On Saturday, Butler repeated that success in their regular season finale, outlasting the Blue Dragons in a back-and-forth battle.
Each team traded sets, forcing a decisive fifth set. Both squads leaned on official challenges to extend the match, but Butler ultimately prevailed, clinching the set and the match 18-16.
Freshman Harlee Randall led the Grizzlies with 19 kills on 37 attacks, adding three service aces, eight digs, and two block assists. Taylin Stallbaumer and Miami Kirksay also delivered strong performances with 18 and 13 kills, respectively. Setter Bella Holcomb contributed an impressive 47 assists. As a team, Butler recorded 55 kills on 173 attacks, 12 service aces, and 14 block assists.
Next up: The Grizzlies are locked into the No. 3 seed for the Region 6 Playoffs and will face No. 6 seed Hutchinson for the third time this season on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Power Plant in El Dorado.
